In the USA a man was calmly stealing from store tills by hypnotizing the cashier. Once they were under his spell he would then ask them to fill up his bag with money and then he would walk away. Staff at the stores only became aware of what was going on when the till didn’t add up at the end of the week so they turned to CCTV which exposed what was going on. There are several other reports of professional hypnotists using their skills to steal or con money out of people. Hypnotizing people to steal money is such a perfect crime because there’s no noise or fuss so it is easy to go unnoticed. I personally have been learning conversational hypnosis as a hobby. It is great fun to learn and put into practice but you need to be careful not to let the power go to your head and to make sure you stay on the right side of the law.
